nature photography
Julius Kramer

Nature photography has been my passion for over 20 years.
With my camera in hand, I immerse myself in the wild stories that await us everywhere: right on our doorstep and sometimes on the other side of the world.
My pictures want to do more than just show – they want to tell, touch and make the magic of nature tangible.

Maldives: Nature photography trip to Kandima Island
Two weeks of nature photography on Kandima Island: between white beaches, mangrove forests and colorful reefs, I discover the quiet, wild side of the Maldives. From flying foxes to sea turtles – every encounter is an unforgettable photographic moment.

Immerse yourself in the world of the black-necked grebe – tips for bird photography
Early morning at the lake – the world is still in twilight. Two small silhouettes glide silently over the water: black-necked grebes with their chicks on their backs. An intimate insight into the life of these fascinating birds, wonderful for bird photographers and nature lovers.

Up close without disturbing – Why species knowledge is so important in animal photography
If you want to photograph animals, you have to understand them. Only with knowledge of the species can you take pictures that are more than just snapshots. It’s about respect, closeness and a deep understanding of the life in front of the lens – because this is the only way to create images that are authentic and unforgettable.

what
moves me
Nature is full of life, diversity and wonder.
Instead of chasing after an idealized image of “untouched” nature, we should learn to see its true beauty – and preserve it. Protecting biodiversity means enjoying nature and giving it space to unfold. It does not need us to renew itself – but we need it.
